Abrasive Wheels Training

Abrasive Wheels Course Aim

At the end of the course the delegates will be able to have an understanding of the current relevant legislation and be able to demonstrate their ability to fit an abrasive wheel and use the equipment safely.

   > Timeframe: Half Day - 3.5 Hours

Health & Safety (concerning the use of abrasive wheels in the workplace)

  • The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005
  • The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (general applications) Regulations 1993
  • Safety in Industry (Abrasive Wheels) Regulations, 1982

Types of Blade covered

  • 41 Flat cutting
  • 42 Depressed Centre Cutting
  • 27 Depressed Centre Grinding
  • Bench Grinding

Explain what an Abrasive wheel is

  • How abrasive wheels are manufactured, how they work, various applications
